Moringa Questions?

~What is Moringa Oleiferas' main purpose~
Is to detox the liver and keep it healthy.

Who should have a Moringa Tree?

Everyone should grow and eat Moringa on a daily basis. Adults, Children & Pets.

Where Does Moringa Grow best?
The Moringa is a Tropical Tree they grow best in tropical areas. They grow in US areas zones 9, 10, 11. 70-95+ they must have fULL SUN they can take part shade but they flower best and faster in full sun.
we have seen moringa trees grow 7 feet in only 5 months in full sun warm/hot weather. Moringa trees can be grown in colder areas with care.

~Growing  moringa trees in Northern California or
Colder areas~
Growing Moringa in a green house~or a large pot inside home. Moringa still likes sun light when ever possible. Moringa will not need as much water in the winter as the summer.

~What happens to Moringa in the COLD?
Moringa are tropical Trees so they do not like any cold waether pass 4o below degrees, They will die back down to the ground or lose their leaves turning yellow looking dead, until its warm up in spring/summer. So you can keep them covered or let them come back in the spring... Stenopetala is less cold hearty but can some back, The older the tree the stronger they become with the cold. So must time Moringa Trees never really die they go dormant.

~Growing Moringa in Home~
Grow in a large pot at least 10+ gallons,
They need need deep pots more so then wide because they grow a long tap root like a carrot. Once the Tree root fills the pot they stop growing tall. Then you have a dwarf tree.

~Planting moringa in ground in Northern Califorina~
Spring is the best time to plant in ground so when winter time comes around, it will be stronger to with stand the cold winter. Since the moringa is tropical trees, in the winter the tree will go dormant loosing all the leaves looking dead or may die down to the ground in very cold, water like,  20 degree weather. DO NOT worry, once the spring hits, they will come out of being dormant and sprout all there leaves very fast and grow up from the roots. In warm weather you can have a 15 foot tree in about 5-6 months after the winter.

~Keeping Moringa Trees warm~
You can add hay around the tree. Uses a heated green house. Add Christmas lights around them.

~Moringa Oleifera or Moringa Stenopetala~
They both have all the same Nutritional benefit's..
*Oleifera's are more Cold Hardy, with Brown seeds, They grow faster, they Grow tall and slender, They have small rounded leaves, Oleifera's seed pods in 6-12 months.They taste good.
A Cute looking Tree.
*Stenopetala's are less cold hardy, they grow a little slower and get wide trunk, They have lager leaves, with white/cream seeds, they take a few years for seed pods. They taste great. Some say taste better than Oleifera. A Elegant looking Tree.

~When to prune and Harvest Moringa leaves~
When your tree reaches about 3 to 5 feet you can harvest the leaves and cut the top off. It will then branch out and grow new branches all over the tree creating a lot more leaves and branches within reach. If you do not prune and cut back, the Moringa will become very tall, shy of leaves and out of reach.
